The Visionary of the Year Program Aims to Promote Gender Equality in Golf

To celebrate and reward the terrific work being done across Australia to promote gender equality in golf, Golf Australia brings you Visionary of the Year.

Whether you are a golf club, individual or a group; if you are doing, or know of outstanding work being done around gender equality nominate now and have the chance to be crowned Visionary of the Year!

"It has been a very inspiring process documenting our community stories to date,” said Chyloe Kurdas, Female Engagement Senior Manager at Golf Australia.

"These initiatives tell us that our community is committed to the aims of Vision 2025. They are taking action by bringing more girls and women to the game and ensuring they have welcoming and supportive experiences once they are here."

Through these stories, Golf Australia aims to provide tangible examples about how golf can provide more – and better – opportunities for women and girls to play, coach and become leaders in the game.

"While monthly winners will be identified and ultimately one annual Visionary of the Year celebrated, many more stories are being told via the Vision 2025 website. An online library has been established from which the greater golf community can learn.

"The ripple effect created by sharing these initiatives is powerful with more and more clubs choosing to adopt similar ideas," Kurdas said.

"Take Kew Golf Club in Victoria and its multi-day club championship for example – women and girls are now able to compete in their championship event on a weekday or weekend. This format is now being adopted by many clubs across Australia, making clubs and competition more accessible for women and girls who are studying or working."
