Alexandra O'Laughlin: Where Golf, Travel & Style Meet

Alexandra O’Laughlin is an inspiring young figure in the world of golf. Now a renowned broadcast personality and social media correspondent for Golf Channel, she has combined her passion for the game with a successful media career. Her role has taken her around the globe, giving her the opportunity to both report on and play the sport we all know and love. Alongside her media career, Alex has always had a keen eye for style and continues to showcase her passion for fashion, especially in the golf industry.

Out of all places you’ve visited, which would you say has the most underrated golf culture or atmosphere?

Portugal deserves more credit, particularly Comporta and the greater Lisbon coast. Everyone talks about Scotland, Ireland, and the obvious heavy hitters, but Portugal has a stylish yet relaxed golf culture. You can play world-class golf, enjoy exceptional food and wine, spend the afternoons at beach clubs, and it becomes so much more than just a golf trip. 

What’s one destination on your bucket list you’d love to visit and play golf?

It's been a long time since I was in New Zealand, so that is back up high on the list. Tara Iti, Te Arai, Cape Kidnappers, Kauri Cliffs... it’s an absurd lineup in a beautiful setting. I love destinations where the golf flows seamlessly into the natural environment.

Have there been any specific or surprisingly memorable players you’ve met on the LPGA tour and why?

I've always admired my friend Jessica Korda. She's been playing professionally since she was a teenager and has now entered a new chapter of being a mom. It's been inspiring to see her focus on family and then find that competitive fire to step back into tour events when she wants.  

Are there any trends, brands or style shifts in women’s golf fashion that you’re especially loving right now?

I love golf clothes that can be worn off the course, and regular clothes that can be worn on the course. A matching linen short and top set with a great raffia hat can be fantastic on the course! No one is stopping you from bringing your everyday style to the course. I think women want pieces that perform but still feel polished, flattering, and current, and the industry has definitely caught up to that.
