In Partnership with Sunriver Resort
Amidst a world with seemingly endless possibilities, choosing the right golf resort for a vacation can feel daunting. Sunriver Resort in
Oregon may be the answer. Just fifteen minutes from Bend, Oregon, the resort is framed by views of Mt. Bachelor and the Deschutes River,
offering four distinct award-winning golf courses alongside a range of on-site amenities.
Sunriver features 63 holes of golf, including three 18-hole courses and a nine-hole par-three course. With endless views of the Pacific Northwest landscape, it’s hard to pick a favorite course, let alone a favorite hole! “That’s the question I get asked all the time,” Vice President of Golf Operations Josh Willis explains. Between Mt. Bachelor views and holes along the Deschutes River, picking just one isn’t easy.
He could, however, identify what makes Sunriver unique. "What sets Sunriver apart is that you can play four completely different golf experiences without ever having to leave the property. From a heathland course winding through preserved wetlands to a tree-lined layout deep in the pines. That kind of variety and scenery, with this level of conditioning, is rare anywhere in the country." While each course offers a distinct experience, one thing remains the same: consistent greens and immaculately maintained conditions.
Head to Sunriver Resort and see if you can pick a favorite course—or even a favorite hole. Fair warning: it’s harder than it sounds.
This Golf Digest Top 100 course has hosted multiple prestigious championships and continues to draw players from across the country seeking a bucket-list Pacific Northwest experience. It winds through woodlands and carefully preserved wetlands and has maintained its top-100 status for more than 30 years.
Designed by John Fought, this course is located at The Lodge at Sunriver, and it runs parallel to the Great Meadow which is the buffer between Sunriver Resort and the Deschutes National Forest. This course has hosted USGA, PGA and NCAA championships, and it will be the host site of four USGA Championships over the next 10 years.
Designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr, this distinct tree-lined course sits on the north end of the Sunriver property and takes players deep into a forest of ponderosa pines. “It’s the most player-friendly of the courses that we have,” Willis explained. “But when I say player-friendly, I mean that anybody can play it—yet it can be as challenging as you want to make it, which is largely driven by the rough.”
Developed by Bob Cupp and Jim Ramey, this nine-hole par-three golf course is perfect for newcomers or juniors, while still providing plenty of challenges for elite players.
Aside from golf, Sunriver offers endless ways to spend the day. "Once you arrive at Sunriver Resort, you never have to get back in your car," Willis said. "Everything is right here. With plenty of outdoor adventures and 63 holes across four courses, no two days are ever the same."
From floating down the Deschutes River and horseback trail rides to enjoying delicious meals or unwinding at the spa, there’s never a dull moment.
The spa itself just reopened this season with a refreshed space, marking the beginning of a new era of wellbeing. Guided by the Four R’s—Rest, Restore, Reconnect, and Recover—the spa also partners with Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, Naturopathica, and Epionce to bring together cutting-edge dermatological science and holistic herbal therapy.
Girls’ trips, buddies’ trips, work events, and family vacations—all are welcome at Sunriver. "When people visit, especially those who have never been here before, they fall in love with this place," Willis said.
