Schloss Roxburghe has seen a 40% increase in the financial performance of its golf business since it came under the management of IMG’s Golf Course Services division.
Bruno de Schuyter, General Manager at Schloss Roxburghe, said: “Whilst we have been working closely with IMG since 2024, this is the first year in which we have entrusted them with the full management of our golf business. This success is testament to the dedication of our Club team, and the expertise and hands-on support that IMG has shown across all areas of the business. We now look to 2026 with renewed confidence and belief in the positive impact that golf can continue to make to overall resort performance”
Central to this success has been Head of Golf, Ross Ovens who was promoted by IMG to lead operations at the venue. With more than 25 years’ experience at Schloss Roxburghe, including more than a decade as Golf Course & Estates Manager, Ovens has brought an intrinsic knowledge of the destination into his elevated role, which has been invaluable as the Club charts new paths whilst retaining its celebrated history. IMG’s operational support, spearheaded by Senior Director, Chris Brown, has been central to this transition and Ovens adds “Moving into a Club management role has been a major step, but IMG’s management team have been with me every step of the way. This truly has been a collaborative effort and is just a start as we continue to bring more golfers from across the globe to experience our incredible golf course and estate”.
This recent period has been one of the most transformative periods in the destinations multi-century history. In addition to the building of 51 luxurious Scottish Cottages across the property, a full renovation and extension of the hotel (including 58 brand new contemporary bedrooms and suites), and the creation of a new award-winning spa, SCHLOSS Roxburghe have also invested heavily in the golf course itself, including the building of a state-of-the-art greenkeeping facility to ensure the layout remains the strongest golfing proposition in the region. The club have also added a brand new TopTracer driving range, complete with covered bays and a dedicated teaching space – open to members, hotel guests, and the general golfing public.
SCHLOSS Roxburghe, located near Kelso in the Scottish borders, is a Destination by Hyatt venue, a moniker given to a select handful of Hyatt
hotels across the world who exude excellence and individualism throughout the property. The newly-built spa was named as one of the ‘Best in
Scotland’ by Conde Nast traveller, with the property’s ‘Sunlaws’ and ‘Charlie’s’ restaurant also much-lauded following the full renovation
of the venue in 2022.
