Set on the pristine shores of Natadola Bay, the resort blends modern luxury with warm Fijian hospitality, a combination that makes every golfer feel both grounded and gloriously spoiled. Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course, designed by former world No. 1 Vijay Singh, is a layout that rewards strategy, tempts risk, and delivers views so spectacular you’ll forget you’re meant to be keeping score.

Whether you’re here for a bucket-list island vacation (think spa rituals, beachfront cocktails, and sunset sessions by the adults-only infinity pool) or you’re keen to pack your days with customized activities like diving or cultural experiences, this excellent golf resort caters to it. But first, it’s tee time.

Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course 

Set along Fiji’s famous Coral Coast, Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course is a breathtaking fusion of rugged natural beauty and world-class golf architecture. Designed by Vijay Singh, the 18-hole, par‑72 layout stretches 7,180 yards from the championship tees and carries a slope rating of 132, a clear indication that this course is no pushover. The women’s tees measure a very playable 5,500 yards, well-suited to social, resort-style golfers.

Although some of the longer carries can seem intimidating, you’ll find reprieve on holes that feature open fairways and reward smart play around the greens. Go ahead and chip it in, babe. You’re in the middle of the South Pacific with minimal witnesses if you happen to bump and miss it.

The front nine is where the course truly shows off the “Fiji Blue” beach scenes. It’s coastal, somewhat exposed, and wildly beautiful, with rolling fairways shaped by the bay’s natural contours. Several holes run adjacent to the water’s edge and depending on what time of day you play (I suggest an early morning tee time), the wind becomes a genuine part of the strategy. The par‑3 4th is the signature showstopper with a dramatic carry over an aquamarine cove that delivers one of the most memorable tee shots in the South Pacific.

The back nine moves inland, offering a more structured, strategic test. Fairways tighten, bunkering appears more deliberate, and most greens are suitably protected by naturally curtained sections of dense foliage. The wind still plays a role, but it’s less unpredictable than the coastal front side. This is the “thinking golfer’s” stretch, a strong, satisfying finish that rewards smart play over brute force. Take note, ladies.

The pro shop offers golf club rentals for around USD $30 (although Fiji Airways makes it incredibly easy to fly with your own set), and green fees are approximately USD $95 for 18 holes, which includes a shared cart. It’s also stocked with quality women’s apparel (buy a merch hat for your golf travel memento collection) and elite golfing equipment.

Travel Tip: Consider a private lesson with the resident teaching professionals if you want to sharpen your game before playing this fab coastal layout.

Lunch at the clubhouse is non‑negotiable in my books. The menu leans into crowd‑pleasers, though I usually find myself opting for a classic Caesar salad or a steak sandwich and a mimosa. Their Indian‑Fijian curries are super moreish, go for the local lamb with roti and paddadum. And while the food is fantastic, it’s the panoramic views over the course and the sea that are scene stealing.

Beachfront Suites in Fiji 

The resort’s accommodations are designed with refined luxury in mind, with ample space, natural textures, and a calming palette inspired by the surrounding landscape. All rooms feature plush king-size beds (twin options available), oversized bathtubs, and private terraces or balconies.

Bathrooms include Cleopatra tubs, rain showers, and Pure Fiji amenities, a beauty brand known for nourishing coconut-based formulations that soothe sun-kissed skin after a day on the fairways. Travel Tip: You can purchase Pure Fiji products from the resort’s spa or the Duty Free airport store on departure.

For people traveling together, whether it’s a women’s golf getaway or friends and family wanting to stay close, several room categories offer outerconnecting options. These configurations allow two rooms to function as a shared suite while still providing private space. It’s a thoughtful setup that makes coordinating tee times, spa sessions, and sunset cocktails seamless.

Entry-level rooms are ideal for travelers who plan to spend most of their time on the course or exploring the resort. But if you’re seeking something truly special, the superior suites and Club InterContinental rooms offer cherished privacy, sweeping views, and exclusive access to the Club Lounge, where sunset cocktails and gourmet canapés are part of the daily ritual.

Spa Intercontinental

For golfers and active travellers, the spa is much more than a pampering add‑on…it’s a genuine performance booster. Treatments draw on traditional Fijian healing techniques and use nutrient‑rich local ingredients like coconut oil, dilo leaf and tropical botanicals to support muscle recovery and joint mobility.

The After Golf Massage is the standout for players looking to reset after a day on the fairways. The treatment begins with a steamed herbal compress to ease muscle aches and tension, followed by a restorative massage designed to improve muscle tone, support detoxification and promote deep relaxation.

And many of the therapies pair beautifully with the outdoor ice bath and sauna combo nestled in the spa gardens. It’s a sure way to lift your body, mind and spirit, though it’s unlikely to lower your score on the course. And yes, I personally tried and tested this method.

Resort Dining 

Food lovers will be in their element here. The resort’s dining venues celebrate fresh, locally sourced ingredients and flavors inspired by Fiji’s rich culinary heritage. 

At Navo Restaurant, guests can enjoy fine dining with a Pacific Rim cuisine twist. Think freshly caught seafood, elite tropical produce, and refined dishes that will impress even the most discerning gourmands in your golfing group. The restaurant’s signature lobster kokoda (Fijian ceviche) is a must-try. 

Toba Bar & Grill offers relaxed poolside dining with wood-fired pizzas, zesty salads, big burgers, and pasta dishes. A top spot for cocktails, cold beers, or a bottle of sparkling. If I weren’t having lunch at the clubhouse, I would head straight here. 

If you’re after something more chill, the resort’s Kama Lounge & Bar doubles beautifully as a cocktail hub and casual sports bar. It’s an open-air space with sea views, sunken lounges, and a breezy island vibe. Best for enjoying a handcrafted cocktail or a tasting flight of Fijian rum. The light bites menu has plenty of snackable/shareable options, too. I really like how the atmosphere shifts effortlessly from laid-back afternoons to fun evenings with live music.  

Sustainability is woven into the resort’s culinary philosophy, with many ingredients sourced from local farmers and fishermen. The Sigatoka Markets (approx. 30 minutes from the resort) are located in the heart of ‘Fiji’s Salad Bowl’ and are well worth a visit if you want to experience authentic Fiji life and sample some of the yummiest fruit in the South Pacific.

The resort is exceptionally well set up for families, with the Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club offering supervised activities and outdoor play for children ages 4–12. Parents can also book qualified nannies to care for small children, ideal for sneaking in another round of golf, an extra spa treatment, or a romantic dinner date.

Getting There

Fiji Airways offers direct service from the USA, departing from Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Honolulu (HNL). Vancouver (YVR) is a direct option, too.

Golf clubs travel as part of your standard checked baggage allowance (no additional sports equipment fees), provided your bag fits within your fare’s weight limit.

Eligible guests can unwind in the award-winning Fiji Airways Premier Lounge at Nadi International Airport before departure. This contemporary space is designed for genuine relaxation and/or a little indulgence. The chef-curated buffet is consistently delicious and the full bar (yes, they will mix almost any drink on request) is excellent. Shower suites, quiet zones, and modern/private business facilities are available, too.
