Applications for assistance to complete initiatives ranging from cart path repairs, introductory programs for junior and female golfers, community engagement initiatives, and water refilling stations to help maintain COVIDSafe practices will be completed following the first round of Local Sport Grants.
The successful first-round recipients were announced today by the NSW Government Office of Sport and included clubs from Coolangatta-Tweed Heads in the north, Bombala in the south, and Broken Hill in the State's far-west.
In total, 28 Clubs across NSW successfully applied for $228,000 in total funding through the program, which is designed to assist grass-roots sports development, events, access. and facilities at a community level.
Stuart Fraser, CEO of Golf NSW, said it was always pleasing to see so many worthy initiatives succeed in harnessing some much-needed funds, which in turn benefit not only the clubs but also their communities.
"It's always nice to know these funds will go to some very worthy projects across the State.
"Not only do they assist in keeping our sport healthy, but they improve the vitality of the communities the clubs are part of."
"It's also gratifying to see the government recognise how much effort our clubs contribute to these initiatives either through co-funding or via voluntary labour," Mr Fraser added.

The Australian PGA Championship is co-sanctioned with the European Tour and forms one of the early events on the 2022 European Tour schedule.
Hosting the tournament in Brisbane has been made possible by support and collaboration between the Queensland Government, through Tourism and Events Queensland, and Brisbane City Council, through Brisbane Economic Development Agency.
