Erin Lim Rhodes: Host, Producer, Creator & Self-Proclaimed Golf Addict

Meet the newest contributor to Women’s Golf magazine, Erin Lim 

Erin is the host of E! News’ The Rundown, reaching 24 million viewers globally. She has covered the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys, Golden Globes, SAG Awards and the Super Bowl. A graduate of Chapman University, Erin’s media career journey continues to skyrocket along with her love of golf. And now, she is writing for WG! Let’s introduce her to our readers via this quick Q&A.   

WG: What sparked your interest in golf? 

EL: In high school, I joined the (barely existent) Girls Golf team after quitting competitive soccer. I didn’t have the ‘golf bug’ or really understand the game as a teen. After graduating, I sometimes went to the driving range but didn’t play rounds.  

Years later (2023), Michelle Wie West invited me to play in Justin Timberlake’s Celebrity tournament in Vegas. She pitched it as a weekend where scores don’t really matter, we drink tequila and we sing karaoke. I was SOLD! That game was full of good vibes and friendship and I finally felt that euphoric pull that keeps you hooked on golf.  

April 2023 marks when I really got addicted and made golf my obsession and #1 hobby. It’s funny because early that year, my husband challenged me to find a hobby to help bring me out of my postpartum depression and it’s like the sport called me through the vessel of my pal, Michelle!  

WG: Where do you usually play and who with? 

EL: I’m a municipal/public course girly. Westlake Golf Course is my home course. I typically go solo and play with whoever I’m paired with. One of my regular golf buddies is Lisa Adams, closet designer to the stars. We are at a similar skill level and always have a great time. Sometimes we play her CC- Woodland Hills.  

WG: What actions can people take to support professional women’s golf? 

EL: Tune into the tournaments! Whether watching on TV/streaming or showing up in person. I also follow many LPGA players on social media because I know how much numbers mean to brands and that endorsements help someone’s career journey.  

WG: Walk the course or take a cart? 

EL: It depends on who I’m playing with. If I want to connect with a friend and gab, then cart. If I want extra exercise, I walk.  

WG: Fav golf fit accessories that stylishly segue from the course to the clubhouse.  

EL: Fashionable skirt, scarf, fun socks.  

WG: Which golf pros might spur you into fan girl mode?  

EL: Muni He, Nelly Korda, Tony Finau - mainly because I love his wife on social media lol.  

WG: What golf gear would you keep or replace in an upgrade? 

EL: I love my set right now, Callaway AI Smoke irons and woods. LA Golf driver and shafts. Miura wedges. I’m looking to change my putter, though. I was a blade gal, but I tried my husband’s mallet putter recently and it felt a little more me and more controlled.
